    On June 18, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published in the Federal Register its proposal to reissue 56 existing nationwide permits (NWPs) and issue one new NWP. One NWP is not proposed for reissuance. NWPs are general permits issued on a nationwide basis to streamline the authorization of activities that result in no more than minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects. Many of the proposed NWPs require notification to the district engineer before commencing those activities, to ensure that the activities authorized by those NWPs cause no more than minimal individual and cumulative adverse environmental effects.

    Expiration date: 7/8/2025

    The applicant, Mid-America St. Louis Airport (BLV), requests authorization under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act to convert 62.91-acres of forested wetland to emergent wetland and complete grading and filling within 8.23-acre of wetlands to construct a permanent service route along the runways. As part of the 2021 BLV Master Plan Update, Forest Management Plan, an obstruction survey was conducted at BLV, resulting in approximately 129 acres of trees within three areas (known as Phases 1, 2, and 3) being identified as existing and future obstructions to various airspace protection zones, including Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 77 Surfaces; Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airports Approach/Departure Surfaces; FAA Order 8260.3F, The United States Standard for Terminal Instrument Procedures (TERPS) Surfaces; and Airport Traffic Control Tower Line of Sight. Any man-made or natural object that penetrates these surfaces must be removed to prevent adverse effects on these zones. The Project to be completed will protect the airspace around the BLV and improve the safety of BLV approaches and operations through the removal of existing and future tree obstructions to the BLV runway and the SAFB runway and the construction of a permanent service route to facilitate the tree removal and future maintenance. The Project is located within the Silver Creek floodplain east of the BLV terminal located at 9656 Air Terminal Drive, Mascoutah, St. Clair County, Illinois. Approximate geographic coordinates for the Project are Latitude 38.5540° and Longitude -89.8294°. The Public Notice comment period is open from 6-18-25 through 7-8-25.   • Notice of Availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods for the Northeast and Southeast

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Baltimore, Buffalo, Charleston, Chicago, Detroit, Fort Worth, Galveston, Huntington, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Mobile, Nashville, New England, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Savannah, St. Louis, Tulsa, Vicksburg, and Wilmington Districts, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 jointly announce the availability of the Regional Streamflow Duration Assessment Methods (Regional SDAMs) for the Northeast and Southeast (dated June 12, 2025). The methods are rapid assessment tools to help distinguish between ephemeral, intermittent, and perennial streamflow at the reach scale for the Northeast and Southeast SDAM Regions.

    The applicant, MITICO LLC, requests establish the Casey Fork mitigation bank. As proposed the Casey Fork Mitigation Bank could generate 32,621.35 stream credits and 23.03 wetland credits. The Sponsor intends to restore, by reconnecting over 3,700 linear feet of historic stream channel and establishing forested and emergent wetlands within the floodplains of an unnamed tributary and Casey Fork Creek. The project site includes approximately 54+/- acres in Jefferson County, Illinois. Latitude: 38.261665° Longitude: -88.909173°. The Public Notice comment period is open from 12 May 2025 through 10 June 2025.
