A Public Notice has been issued for the proposed establishment of the Olive Branch Mitigation Site. The Sponsor, Naturion West, LLC, requests approval for this site under their approved Umbrella Mitigation Banking Program Instrument (File Number: MVS-2020-652).
As proposed, the Olive Branch Mitigation Site would generate 30.3 wetland credits. The Sponsor intends to restore several habitat types, including 3.0 acres of hardwood bottomland forest, 10.8 acres of cypress/tupelo swamp, and 16.5 acres of emergent wetland habitat. The project site includes approximately 35.4 acres located within the floodplains of the Mississippi River and the historic Cache River Basin in Alexander County, Illinois. The Public Notice comment period is open from January 7, 2026, through February 6, 2026.
