Lake Shelbyville Kids Fishing Tournament

Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville is hosting a free fishing tournament for children under 13 on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Opossum Pond. The pond is located near the entrance to the Opossum Creek Recreation Area. Participants are encouraged to pre-register by calling 217-774-3951 ext. 2, though it is not mandatory.

Boaters Can Earn $75 Cash

Lake Shelbyville - You can earn $75.00 for approximately two hours of your time participating in a focus group session if you are an adult male boater between the ages of 20 and 60, who is available on the afternoon of April 28, 2018. The Corps of Engineers Natural Resources Education Foundation, doing business as The Corps Foundation, is working in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to conduct a focus group session with men who don’t always wear a life jacket while boating and swimming. We are seeking feedback on our “Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns” campaign products, including a new mobile game app.

Lake Shelbyville to host Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground

Lake Shelbyville – Camping season is finally upon us. To celebrate, Lake Shelbyville, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will provide free camping during Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground on May 10-12th, 2018. Campsites will be available on a first come, first served basis Thursday through Saturday night. Paid camping will resume on Sunday, May 13.
