    Lake Shelbyville – Eagle Day at Lake Shelbyville is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. The center will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with three different opportunities for event participants to view birds up close.

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville would like to remind lake users of winter safety. Winter drawdown began on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. At that time, the lake level was 599.83 feet above sea level as referenced to the National Vertical Geodetic Datum (NVGD). As of January 10, 2018, the lake level is 596.86 NVGD and decreasing to the target winter pool level of 594.0.

    Lake Shelbyville - Don’t let your Christmas tree go to waste this year after the holidays. Extend your tree’s life by donating it for Fish Habitat Improvement Day at Lake Shelbyville. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will place the discarded trees into Lake Shelbyville to enhance the fisheries for years to come.
  • Lake Shelbyville Water Control Public Meeting

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is hosting a public meeting on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current water control plan, water control operations, and dam safety. Engineering staff from the St. Louis District office will present on the topics of water control operations/procedures and dam safety.
  • Visit with Santa at Lake Shelbyville

    Lake Shelbyville – Santa Claus is coming to town on Saturday, December 9 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. Children of all ages and their families are welcome to stop in and see Santa. All who attend will receive a free photo print with Santa as well as some water safety items from Bobber the Water Safety Dog.

    Lake Shelbyville – The Lake Shelbyville U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Wolf Creek State Park will hold the 28th Annual Lake Shelbyville Deer Hunt for People with Disabilities during the first firearm deer season on November 17-19, 2017.
  • Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance to Receive Grant

    Lake Shelbyville – Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), Division of Fisheries biologist, Mike Mounce, in conjunction with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Natural Resource Specialist, Lee Mitchell, successfully wrote and submitted a grant to the Friends of Reservoirs (FOR) on behalf of the Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance (LSFHA) for fish habitat and fishing quality improvements on Lake Shelbyville.
