  • Lake Shelbyville to host Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground

    Lake Shelbyville – Camping season is finally upon us. To celebrate, Lake Shelbyville, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will provide free camping during Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground on May 10-12th, 2018. Campsites will be available on a first come, first served basis Thursday through Saturday night. Paid camping will resume on Sunday, May 13.

    Lake Shelbyville – On March 20th at 6:00 p.m., the Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance will host a public meeting at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center to discuss the status and upcoming fish habitat projects. Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance (LSFHA) is made up of fishing clubs, individuals, businesses, government agencies, and organizations looking to improve fishery at Lake Shelbyville.

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance will place donated Christmas trees and artificial structures into Lake Shelbyville to enhance the fisheries for years to come on March 17, 2018.

  • Eagle Day at Lake Shelbyville

    Lake Shelbyville – Eagle Day at Lake Shelbyville is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. The center will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with three different opportunities for event participants to view birds up close.

  • Winter Safety at Lake Shelbyville

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville would like to remind lake users of winter safety. Winter drawdown began on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. At that time, the lake level was 599.83 feet above sea level as referenced to the National Vertical Geodetic Datum (NVGD). As of January 10, 2018, the lake level is 596.86 NVGD and decreasing to the target winter pool level of 594.0.

    Lake Shelbyville - Don’t let your Christmas tree go to waste this year after the holidays. Extend your tree’s life by donating it for Fish Habitat Improvement Day at Lake Shelbyville. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will place the discarded trees into Lake Shelbyville to enhance the fisheries for years to come.
