  • Dam West Boat Ramp Closure for IHSA State Bass Fishing Finals

    CARLYLE LAKE - The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Bass Fishing Finals will be held at Carlyle Lake Friday, May 20, 2022 – Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Dam West Boat Ramp. To accommodate tournament activities, the Dam West Boat Ramp will temporarily close to the public beginning the morning of Wednesday, May 18 through Saturday, May 21, 2022. During this period, Allen Branch and Apache Boat Ramps located in Eldon Hazlet State Park or the Dam East Boat Ramp and Keyesport Boat Ramp will be available to the general public.
  • Dam West Boat Ramp and Lake Road Closure for Celebrate the Earth

    CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Carlyle Lake Project will temporarily close Dam West Boat Ramp to the public beginning the evening of Thursday, April 21 through Friday, April 22, 2022. In addition, Lake Road in the Dam West Recreation Area will be temporarily closed from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022. These closures are necessary for public safety during the 2022 Celebrate the Earth event. This annual event will draw over 2,500 students, teachers, and chaperones to the Dam West Day Use area. To ensure the safety of everyone participating, Dam West Boat Ramp and Lake Road will be temporarily closed.
  • Carlyle Lake Dam East Boat Ramp Closure

    CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Carlyle Lake Project will temporarily close the Dam East Boat Ramp to the public beginning the evening of Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 10, 2022. The closure is necessary for the 739th Engineer Company to conduct military training exercises associated with launching, catching, and releasing interior bays on the water with approximately 60 to 70 soldiers participating.
  • Kaskaskia Watershed Association to hold Annual Summit

    CARLYLE LAKE - The 21st Annual Kaskaskia Watershed Summit, sponsored by the Kaskaskia Watershed Association, Inc. (KWA), will be held on Monday, 7 March 2022, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Mariner’s Village Resort Conference Center in Carlyle, Illinois. Registration begins at 9:00 am. This year’s theme, “Maintaining the Kaskaskia System for Generations to Come”, will focus on the successes and needs of a system that has been functioning for around 50 years and continue well into the future.     CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the Case-Halstead Library, will be hosting an Eagle Watch on Saturday January 29, 2022, at the Case-Halstead Library in Carlyle, IL.
  • Firewood Cutting Opportunity at Carlyle Lake

    CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will offer the opportunity for individuals to obtain a Special Use Permit to cut up downed trees for firewood at Coles Creek Recreation Area and Campground.
  • Summer Employment Available at Carlyle Lake

    Carlyle Lake – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake is looking for qualified candidates to fill student vacancies for the 2022 summer recreation season. Carlyle Lake offers a great work experience opportunity for students pursuing a career in the field of biology, outdoor recreation, or natural resource management.
