  • Weekend Activities at Carlyle Lake

    CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake is preparing for a fun and safe weekend. Whether you enjoy fishing, camping, boating, bike riding or other outdoor activities, Carlyle Lake offers an abundance of recreation opportunities. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offers educational programs in the campgrounds and at the beaches every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the recreation season. Presentations are free and open to the public.

  • Corps of Enigneers reopens main chamber at Mel Price Locks

    Alton, Ill. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District reopened the main lock chamber to river traffic at Melvin Price Locks and Dam today after completing emergency repairs to one of the busiest locks on the Mississippi River.

  • Dove Hunt for Sportsmen with Disabilities at Carlyle Lake

    CARLYLE LAKE – Sportsmen with disabilities can now reserve access to handicapped-accessible dove hunting blinds for September 1st and September 2nd, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to sunset. The use of each blind is by reservation only and will be limited to permanently non-ambulatory or semi-ambulatory hunters. Each hunter may request a specific day or both days and a lottery will be held for the competing slots. Requests for reservations are taken by phone or in writing. The deadline is 4:00 p.m. on August 28, 2014. For more information, or to place a request, contact the Carlyle Lake Project Office by phone at (618) 594-2484.

  • Keyesport Recreation Area Temporarily Closed for Triathlon

    CARLYLE LAKE - RaceMaker Productions will be hosting a triathlon in the Keyesport Recreation Area at Carlyle Lake on Sunday, August 10, 2014. Due to the number of participants and for public safety, Keyesport Recreation Area will be temporarily closed from 10:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014. All other recreation areas will remain open.

  • Cruisin' the Dam Car Show and Cruz-in

    CARLYLE LAKE - On Friday, August 8, 2014, the 18th Annual Car Show & Cruz-In will be held at the Mariner’s Village Resort at Carlyle Lake. More than 250 classic cars from central and southern Illinois are expected to participate in the event.
