  • Carlyle Lake Main Dam Bridge Deck Closure

    CARLYLE LAKE – On Monday, April 14, 2014, the Carlyle Lake Main Dam bridge deck will be closed for maintenance work. The work is a continuation from prior structural repairs and painting performed in 2006. Repairs will include sandblasting and repainting the four tainter gates at the Carlyle Lake Main Dam. These repairs will ensure the integrity and increase the longevity of the structure. The repairs are expected to last through the entire recreation season and work is scheduled to be completed in September 2014. The schedule of work is contingent upon weather and lake level, and may be adjusted.

  • Carlyle Lake to Increase Downstream Releases

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 444.30 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD), with a release of approximately 4,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs). The inflow for Wednesday, April 2, 2014 was approximately 5,590 day second feet (dsf). Due to the previous rainfall, Carlyle Lake will crest on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 445.5 feet NGVD. Downstream releases will be increased beginning Thursday, April 3, 2014 to reach a release rate of 8,000 cfs by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014.
  • Camping Opportunities at Carlyle Lake in 2014

    CARLYLE LAKE – The 2014 camping season will begin with the opening of Dam West and McNair Campgrounds on March 28th. Boulder Campground will open on April 13th and the Coles Creek and Lotus Group area on April 28th. The Dam East Spillway Campground and the Eldon Hazlet State Park are open year-round.
