Carlyle Lake to Increase Downstream Releases

CARLYLE LAKE - As of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 444.30 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD), with a release of approximately 4,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs).  The inflow for Wednesday, April 2, 2014 was approximately 5,590 day second feet (dsf).   Due to the previous rainfall, Carlyle Lake will crest on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 445.5 feet NGVD. Downstream releases will be increased beginning Thursday, April 3, 2014 to reach a release rate of 8,000 cfs by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014.

 

    The predicted crest has minimal impacts to facilities at Carlyle Lake.  The General Dean Recreation Area will be closed. Dam West, McNair, and East Spillway Campgrounds and all boat ramps on Carlyle Lake will remain open.
