    The attached Public Notice requests comment regarding the proposed inclusion of the Grand/Chariton Rivers Ecological Drainage Unit (EDU) into the operational area of the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation's Stream Stewardship Trust Fund, an in-lieu-fee mitigation provider.

  • Cora Island

    Expiration date: 6/15/2014

    The proposed project is located on existing public land purchased in fee title by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in St. Charles County, Missouri. This project site is 1,342 acres in size and is located south of West Alton, Missouri. The area is adjacent to the left descending bank of the Missouri River, at river miles 3 to 6. The goal of the proposed action is to create habitat to benefit the federally endangered pallid sturgeon. The proposed action would result in approximately 42 acres of shallow water habitatimmediately following construction through the creation of three side channel chutes that would total 24,000 linear feet in length. The chutes would be constructed to a width of approximately 75-feet and a depth of 5 to 7-feet below the construction reference plan. Over time, natural processes would expand the width of the chutes and result in approximately 111 acres of shallow water habitat.

  • Interpretive rule for NRCS exemptions

    Expiration date: 6/5/2014

    Although the interpretive rule was effective on April 03, 2014, the Federal Register notice provides the public opportunity to become familiar with the interpretive rule and understand what has become effective. The agencies recognize the importance and value of receiving public input on the implementation of this interpretive rule; input which may inform future revisions to the list of activities included under the interpretive rule. Comments on the interpretive rule are to be provided on or before June 05, 2014.

  • Final Proposed Rule for CWA definitions

    Expiration date: 11/14/2014

    The proposed rule was developed to enhance protection for the nation’s public health and aquatic resources, and to increase CWA program predictability and consistency by increasing clarity as to the scope of “waters of the United States” protected under the Act. The goal of the agencies is to ensure the regulatory definition is consistent with the CWA, as interpreted by the Supreme Court, and as supported by science, and to provide maximum clarity to the public, as the agencies work to fulfill the CWA’s objectives and policy to protect water quality, public health, and the environment. The Federal Register notice is the public’s opportunity to provide comment on the proposed rule. Comments on the proposed rule are to be provided on or before November 14, 2014.

  • Public Hearing February

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District (Corps), will hold a Public Hearing for two Draft Environmental Assessments (EAs) for river training structure construction activities (Regulating Works) for the Grand Tower Phase 5 Project and the Dogtooth Bend Phase 5 Project. Where and when: In the Library, at the Shawnee High School (Community Unit School District #84) in Wolf Lake, Illinois, February 19, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Information on the projects, supporting documents, and maps will also be available for public inspection, February 19, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the library, prior to the public hearing.
