    Benton, IL- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake invites you to attend this week’s Environmental Science Series program to be held in the Rend Lake Visitor Center on Saturday August 2nd . “Hands-on Science Fun” will be presented by The Science Center of Southern Illinois. Join us at 11:00 a.m. when we will be investigating volcanoes.

  • "Our Solar Sytem" program to be held at Rend Lake

    Benton, Il- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake would like to extend a special invitation to join us Saturday, July 19th, at the Rend Lake Project Office/Visitor Center, as we view the night sky. This program will be presented by a Rend Lake College science instructor Greg Hollmann. The program will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will end at 10:00 p.m.
  • Birds of prey program to be held at Rend Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will be hosting the eighth program in the ongoing Environmental Science Series of Programs. “Birds of Prey,” presented by Bev Shofstall from the Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Rend Lake Project Office and Visitor Center. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a bald eagle, a red-tailed hawk, a turkey vulture, and a kestrel up close as Bev shows some of the fascinating birds of prey that reside at the center. There will be 2 programs; the first will begin at 11 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
  • Backyard Campout Program on June 14th, 2014

    The Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake invites kids of all ages to the Environmental Science Series program on Saturday, June 14 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Rend Lake Project Office/ Visitor Center located on the West side of Rend Lake Dam. This program entitled “Backyard Campout” will be presented by park rangers.
  • Beach Blast to be Held at South Sandusky Beach

    Benton, IL The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake invites you to join us as we host the annual Rend Lake Beach Blast, Saturday, June 7th, at the South Sandusky Beach. Common beach activities such as sand castle building and relay games will take on a whole new look as Rend Lake Park Rangers lead activities that show you how to stay safe around the water, while still having fun.
  • The Reptile Experience

    Benton, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will be hosting the first of a summer-long series of programs designed to educate and enlighten visitors to Rend Lake. The first program for the summer will be “The Reptile Experience” starring Serengeti Steve and the array of animals that he has to show. The program will be held at the Rend Lake Project Office/ Visitor Center on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Serengeti Steve will give two presentations, the first beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the second at 2:00 p.m.
  • Interagency Military Pass waives day-use fees at USACE recreation sites nationwide

    Benton – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will continue to accept the America the Beautiful Federal Recreation Pass Program’s Interagency Annual Pass for Military (Military Pass) at its more than 2,500 USACE-managed recreation areas nationwide.
