The St. Louis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received an application for a Department of the Army permit pursuant to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. §1344) and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 (33 U.S.C. §403). The purpose of this public notice is to solicit comments from the public regarding the work described below:
The applicant, BNSF Railway Company, requests authorization to reconstruct the BNSF Bridge No. 0014-0100.43 over Salt River on the Hannibal Subdivision as part of the BNSF general maintenance program. Work within the aquatic resources adjacent to the OHWM of the Salt River consist of existing bent removal, temporary staging areas, site access routes, temporary trestle bridges, and the construction of the proposed main and approach spans. The site is located within 28 Section, 55 Township, 2 Range; at Latitude 39.50529° and Longitude -91.142873°; in Louisiana, Pike County, MO.
The St. Louis District will receive written comments on the proposed work, as outlined above, until December 17, 2025. Comments should be submitted electronically via the Regulatory Request System (RRS) at https://rrs.usace.army.mil/rrs or to Samantha Hollenberg at Samantha.L.Hollenberg@usace.army.mil.
