The applicant, Gateway Acquisitions, Inc., has applied for a Department of the Army Permit for the project known as the South Parking and Camping Area at the Worldwide Technology Raceway. The applicant seeks authorization for the placement of fill into waters of the U.S. to facilitate the development of approximately 7-acres of parking and camping area, which would provide needed parking and camping opportunities for the raceway. Proposed impacts to waters of the U.S. include 6.82 acres of emergent wetland. The project area is located in Section 7, Township 2 North, and Range 9 West, St. Clair County, Illinois. Approximate geographic coordinates for the site are Latitude: 38.6416 and Longitude: -90.1342.
