While participating in water related recreation activities, always wear your life jacket. Over two-thirds of people who drown never had any intention of being in the water.
  • Waterfest is Coming!

    The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers welcomes you on Saturday, July 5, for the Annual Ranger Willie B. Safe’s Wet ‘n Wild Waterfest. This FREE event is co-sponsored with the SEMO Regional Water Safety Council along with many other businesses and will be held at the Redman Creek Beach from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Day use fees will be waived at the Redman Creek Beach for the event.

  • “Reeling in the Fish” Kids Fishing Tournament and Get Outdoor Days

    CARLYLE LAKE - In recognition of Illinois’ Free Fishing Days June 6th - June 9th and National Get Outdoors Days, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in partnership with Henkel’s Hook and Arrow will be hosting a “Reeling in the Fish” kid’s fishing tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 7th at the City of Carlyle Fish Hatchery Pond located on Illinois Route 50, one mile east of Carlyle. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The tournament will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. giving participant’s an hour and a half of fishing time. Trophies will be awarded for total weight in two age categories, ten and under and eleven to fifteen. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in both categories.
