• Lake Shelbyville to host Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground

    Lake Shelbyville – Camping season is finally upon us. To celebrate, Lake Shelbyville, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will provide free camping during Pack the Park at Coon Creek Campground on May 10-12th, 2018. Campsites will be available on a first come, first served basis Thursday through Saturday night. Paid camping will resume on Sunday, May 13.

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 450.76 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD). The current release rate is approximately 5,560 cubic feet per second (cfs). The inflow for Monday, April 2, 2018 was approximately 10,910 day second feet (dsf). With current precipitation on the ground, Carlyle Lake is forecasted to crest at 452.0 feet NGVD on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Carlyle Lake Dam is operating as designed, helping reduce flood stages on the Lower Kaskaskia and Mississippi Rivers.
  • Firewood Cutting Opportunity at Coles Creek

    CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will extend the opportunity for individuals to obtain a Special Use Permit to cut up downed trees for firewood at Coles Creek Campground. Permits are available at the Carlyle Lake Project Office from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
