Dam West, Coles Creek, and Boulder Campgrounds are open with sites available on a first-come-first-serve basis and through reservation by calling the National Recreation Reservation Service at 1-877-444-6777 or online at www.recreation.gov. McNair and Dam East Campgrounds are open on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Eldon Hazlet State Park is also open and has sites available first-come, first-serve or online at www.reserveamerica.com
  • 13th Annual Kaskaskia Watershed Association Showcase

    CARLYLE LAKE - The Kaskaskia Watershed Association, Inc. will hold its 13th Annual Showcase on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Kaskaskia River Marina located in New Athens, Illinois. The event is open to the public and hosted by the Kaskaskia Watershed Association, Inc. (KWA) and the Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholder, Inc (LKSI). Registration and lunch begin at 11:00 a.m.; a $15.00 registration fee covers the cost of lunch and refreshments. Immediately following lunch, a three hour barge tour to view areas along the Kaskaskia River will be offered.

    CARLYLE LAKE – The Dam East Boat Ramp, West Spillway and East Spillway will be temporarily closed to the general public from 11:30 p.m. on August 14th through noon on August 15th for maintenance. All other boat ramps and facilities will remain open during this timeframe.

  • Cruisin’ the Dam Car Show and Cruz-In

    CARLYLE LAKE - On Friday, August 9, 2013, the 17th Annual Car Show & Cruz-In will be held at the Mariner’s Village Resort at Carlyle Lake. More than 250 classic cars from central and southern Illinois are expected to participate in the event.
  • Keyesport Recreation Area Temporarily Closed for Triathlon

    CARLYLE LAKE - RaceMaker Productions will be hosting a triathlon in the Keyesport Recreation Area at Carlyle Lake on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The triathlon will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will consist of a timed swim, run and bike course. The swim portion will take place at Keyesport beach and the bike course will start at the Keyesport Recreation Area and will travel South on Clinton and Bond County roads. The route of the run course will take participants across the Keyesport levee South on Clinton and Bond County roads. While visiting Carlyle Lake during the triathlon, visitors are encouraged to take extra caution while driving in the areas of the triathlon course.
