CARLYLE LAKE - The 22nd Annual Kaskaskia River Duck Race returns to the Carlyle Lake West Spillway on Saturday, July 13, 2013, the event will have the same format as last year. Due to high pool levels and increased releases from the Carlyle Lake Main Dam, the event has been changed to the “Great Kaskaskia River Duck Pluck”. Thousands of ducks will be securely placed on land in a fenced area located in the West Spillway. A designated official will be blindfolded and randomly choose the winning ducks. The owner of the winning duck will be awarded $5,000 and nine additional prizes will be issued to the runners-up. The top four runner-up prizes include four St. Louis Cardinal Tickets, a Pandora Bracelet, Sunday Brunch for four people at Krieger’s at the Holiday Inn Atrium in Mt. Vernon, and a gift basket and wing tray from Dairy King in Breese.
