Horseback is a great way to enjoy the natural wonders of Mark Twain Lake. There are over 20 miles of equestrian trails available year round. Both Lick Creek and Joanna Trails weave in and out of wooded areas, often running right along the edge of the lake, allowing users to take in some of the most impressive views over the water, woods, and wildlife. With several access points and multiple loops, it is easy to customize a horseback expedition to your needs and desires, whether you are looking for a long ride or a short scenic loop.
Lick Creek and Joanna Trail both take a great deal of work to maintain, much of which is provided through a volunteer effort by the NEMO Valley Back Country Horsemen group.
