  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducts Change of Responsibility and retirement ceremony

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers today conducted a Change of Responsibility ceremony between outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Patrickson Toussaint, the 14th USACE command sergeant major, and incoming Command Sgt. Maj. Douglas W. Galick, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The ceremony was followed by a retirement ceremony for Toussaint.
  • Public scoping meeting to be held for navigation study at Kaskaskia Regional Port District Terminal 2

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, in coordination with the non-federal sponsor, Kaskaskia Regional Port District, is hosting an in-person public meeting June 22 to discuss a navigation study for Kaskaskia Regional Port District Terminal 2, near Baldwin, Ill., from 6 – 8 p.m. at Southwestern Illinois College in Red bud, Ill.
  • Army Corps of Engineers waives day use fees at recreation areas in observance of Army Corps of Engineers Birthday and Juneteenth Celebration

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that it will waive day use fees at its more than 2,850 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in observance of the USACE birthday, June 16, and Juneteenth National Independence Day, June 19.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to hold FUSRAP open house

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program, or FUSRAP, will hold an open house in Florissant June 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. During the open house, the FUSRAP team will discuss the three recently released Final Status Survey Evaluation reports that detail the results from the October 2022 radiological sampling at Jana Elementary School. The results determined that there were no radiological risks to the students or staff at the school and that no radiological contamination exists in or near the school that might have been generated by activities of the Manhattan Engineer District/Atomic Energy Commission, or MED/AEC, during the nation’s early efforts to produce atomic weapons.
