  • Civil War Living History Event

    CARLYLE LAKE - The Clinton County Historical Society in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting a Civil War Living History event on May 6 & 7, 2017 at the Mariner’s Village Resort at Carlyle Lake. The location of the event will be the grassy area adjacent to the Mariners Village Resort, near the Dam West Recreational Area. This event will kick-off a summer of events celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Carlyle Lake.
  • Carlyle Lake Update

    CARLYLE LAKE - As of 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake was 446.70 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD). The current release rate is approximately 1,050 cubic feet per second (cfs). The inflow for Sunday, April 30, 2017 was approximately 22,390 day second feet (dsf). With current precipitation on the ground, Carlyle Lake is forecasted to crest at 451.5 feet NGVD on Friday, May 5, 2017. Carlyle Lake Dam is operating as designed, helping reduce flood stages on the Lower Kaskaskia and Mississippi Rivers.
  • Update of Flooding at Wappapello Lake, 4-30-17

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake reports significant rains received in the St. Francis watershed north of Wappapello Lake have caused the upper St. Francis River and Wappapello Lake to rise. As of 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017, the Wappapello Lake level was 382.52 feet relative to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) and rising.

  • Temporary Closure of Riverlands Way

    The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rivers Project Office, will temporarily close Riverlands Way to vehicle traffic on Saturday March 25, 2017. The road will be closed from 6:00 am to 10:30 am for the annual Alton Half Marathon. Maple Island Access Area will still be available via Red School Road.
