    ST. LOUIS – As of 10:30 a.m. CST today, all federal levees in the St. Louis District are performing as designed. The Corps is working with our partners and local communities to reduce the risk of damages from flooding.

    CARLYLE LAKE – As of 9:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, the pool elevation of Carlyle Lake is 450.68 feet NGVD with a release rate of approximately 5,680 cubic feet per second (cfs). Yesterday’s inflow was 17,570 dsf. Due to the previous rainfall, Carlyle Lake is predicted to crest on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at less than 451.5 feet NGVD.

    ST. LOUIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District is responding to flooding on the Mississippi River by activating its Emergency Operations Center in St. Louis and closing locks on the Mississippi River.

    CARLYLE LAKE – As of 9:00 a.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013, the pool elevation of Carlyle Lake is 452.98 feet NGVD with a release rate of approximately 10,000 cubic feet per second (cfs). Yesterday’s inflow was 16,430 dsf. The lake is predicted to crest on Wednesday, May 8th at less than 454.0 feet NGVD, barring additional precipitation. The target pool elevation is 445.0 feet NGVD.
  • Corps of Engineers opens two Mississippi River locks with receding water

    ST. LOUIS – In response to receding water, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District has opened Mississippi River Locks 24 in Clarksville and Locks 25 in Winfield. The locks had been closed since last Saturday, in anticipation of the high water.

  • Lake Shelbyville High Water Information

    Lake Shelbyville – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville has reported high water conditions at the lake. The pool elevation has risen to 9.43 feet above normal summer pool (599.7 feet referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD)). The level as of 7 a.m. on April 25 was 609.13 feet NVGD and the discharge rate was at 4,180 cubic feet per second (cfs). Lake Shelbyville is expected to crest on Saturday, April 27, at 609.5 feet NGVD. This is based on the current discharge rate with no additional precipitation.

    St. Louis – The U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are urging recreational boaters to avoid going out on the water.
