  • FIREWOOD CUTTING AT MARK TWAIN LAKE

    Mark Twain Lake, October 25, 2021 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that firewood cutting for personal use will be allowed by permit on designated areas of Mark Twain Lake. The cutting period will begin on November 1, 2021 and continue through February 25, 2022. Please be aware that firewood cutting areas may closed for short durations during this period to accommodate hunting seasons, inclement weather, and ground conditions.
  • Waterfowl Refuge and No Hunting Zones at Mark Twain Lake

    Mark Twain Lake, October 21, 2021 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages a waterfowl refuge on the Middle Fork and Elk Fork branches on Mark Twain Lake during the waterfowl season. The refuge provides approximately 3,000 acres of habitat for migratory waterfowl to feed and rest before continuing south towards their wintering grounds.
  • David C Berti Shooting Range Closed for Maintenance

    October 19, 2021, Mark Twain Lake – The David C. Berti Shooting Range located in the Warren G. See South Spillway Recreation Area at Mark Twain Lake will be closed from on Monday, October 25 and Tuesday October 26, 2021 for visitor and maintenance staff safety while safety fence is installed. Please follow all posted construction signs, keep out signs and other safety signs.   • Carlyle Lake Main Dam Bridge Deck Closure

    CARLYLE LAKE – On Sunday, October 17, 2021, the Carlyle Lake Main Dam bridge deck will be closed for maintenance work. The work will include an annual inspection to ensure the integrity and increase the longevity of the structure. The work is expected to last through Friday, October 22, 2021.
  • Fall Opportunities at Carlyle Lake

    CARLYLE LAKE – Fall is a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors! Carlyle Lake’s fall opportunities will keep you busy the entire season! Enjoy the cool fall temperatures with family and friends while roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a crackling campfire. Carlyle Lake offers opportunities at several campgrounds that stay open for fall camping. Dam West and McNair Campgrounds will be open through 12 p.m. Monday, November 1st, 2021. Boulder Campground will be open until 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 12th, 2021. Dam East and Hazlet State Park Campgrounds are open year-round.

    October 6, 2021, Mark Twain Lake – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Mark Twain Lake has announced an extension of the camping season for some sites due to increased public demand. To accommodate the increased need for campsites the Ray Behrens, Indian Creek and Frank Russell Campgrounds have extended the season for selected sites as listed below:
