CAP 205: Meramec River near Fenton, Missouri

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, has partnered with the non-Federal sponsor, the City of Fenton, to study the Meramec River flooding in the City of Fenton. A public meeting will be held on January 9, 2024 to present a preliminary recommendation consisting of nonstructural actions to reduce flood damages to commercial and residential structures.

Under Section 205 of the Corps’ Continuing Authorities Program (CAP), this FRM study will consider strategies and tools to modify human susceptibility to flood damage and disruption through floodplain and floodwater management recommendations such as flood risk awareness and communication, and flood damage reduction measures. Ultimately, this study will produce a Feasibility Report with an Integrated Environmental Assessment.
