The applicant, Marion Heights II, Inc., has applied for a Department of the Army Permit for the project known as Marion Heights Rte. 13/W.C.P. Development. The applicant seeks authorization for the placement of fill into waters of the U.S. to facilitate the development of approximately 30-acres of commercial retail and restaurant sites on Lots 2, 3, and 4 of the Homer Reinbolt Subdivision property. Proposed impacts to waters of the U.S. within Lots 3 and 4 of the Homer Reinbolt Subdivision property include 593 linear feet of perennial stream, 1.5 acres of emergent wetland, and 7.9 acres of forested wetland. The project is within the Big Muddy watershed. The perennial stream is an unnamed tributary to Crab Orchard Creek. The project area is located in Section 15, Township 9 South, and Range 2 East, Williamson County, Illinois.
