The applicant seeks authorization to create a private residential lake to complement a single-family home and provide outdoor recreational benefits, the applicant is proposing to construct an approximately 600-foot long, earthen dam across the western end of a small valley containing an unnamed tributary to Belews Creek. Construction of the dam will create an approximately 9.30-acre lake. Construction material necessary for the dam will be excavated from the site. The revised lake plan is depicted on an aerial photograph and enclosed as Figure 2. Based on the proposed dam height, approximately 1,960 linear feet (LF) of the unnamed intermittent tributary will be impacted by dam construction and inundation. The public notice opens October 31 and closes November 20, 2017.
