  • Community Cove Welcomes New Kayak Launch and Pollinator Field

    The area of public lands designated as Dam West High Water Boat Ramp, commonly referred to as “Community Cove”, recently acquired a new kayak launch and pollinator plots through various partnerships and grants. The “Community Cove” area includes the Dam West High Water Boat Ramp as well as public lands directly encompassing the boat ramp. This area extends West to Forest Park, South to the 9th Street and Dam Road intersections, and East to the Dam West Recreation Area.

  • Ralls County Kayak Race Donation Helps Fund Playground at Visitor Center

    The Ralls County Kayak Race held at Mark Twain Lake on May 13, 2017 has made possible a donation to the Mark Twain Lake Visitors and Educational Resource Center Committee. The donation of $700.00 made from the proceeds of the race will help provide a playground at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center.
  • There's Something for Everyone at the Great Rivers Festival

    The Meeting of the Rivers Foundation (MTRF), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and their many partners are throwing a party for our great rivers! The first annual Great Rivers Festival will be at the National Great Rivers Museum in Alton, IL and the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary in West Alton, MO from 10 am - 5 pm on Saturday May 17th. A party so big, it spans the Mississippi River!
