  • Groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of sanitary sewer trunkline rehabilitation project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, along with the city of Cahokia Heights and other officials, held a groundbreaking ceremony today, to celebrate the start of the sanitary sewer trunkline rehabilitation project. The project focuses on a critical portion of the sanitary sewer infrastructure which carries all wastewater from any flushed toilet, sink, or bathtub drain from near the intersection of Jerome and Mousette lanes south to the Levin Drive Pump Station where it’s pumped to the American Bottoms Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sauget, Illinois, for processing.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, along with the city of Cahokia Heights and other officials, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Monday, April 1, to celebrate the start of the sanitary sewer trunkline rehabilitation project.

  • Trunkline rehabilitation contract awarded for Cahokia Heights

    A construction contract for Sanitary Sewer Trunkline Rehabilitation was awarded to Insituform Technologies USA, LLC on February 9 for $4,628,116.00. This project is cost shared with the city of Cahokia Heights, Illinois and will rehabilitate approximately 17,000 lineal feet of the main sanitary sewer trunkline by utilizing the minimally invasive Cured-In-Place Pipe liner technology on the existing trunkline.

  • Corps of Engineers, Cahokia Heights, partner on sewer improvement project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, and the City of Cahokia Heights, Illinois, recently entered into a cost-shared Project Partnership Agreement, or PPA, for sewer improvements included in the Sanitary Sewer Trunkline Project. The $4.67 million project, of which $3.5 million was sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin as a Congressional Directed Spending Item, will involve trenchless sewer rehabilitation of the largest, deepest, and most downstream sections of the main sanitary sewer trunkline conveying flow through the City of Cahokia Heights. These improvements will correct pipe deficiencies, restore structural stability, and ensure long-term reliability of this main conduit for wastewater transport.
