Published Aug. 19, 2015

Mark Twain Lake, August 19, 2015 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at Mark Twain Lake announces the review period for the draft Project Master Plan is Friday, August 21 through September 21, 2015.  The draft Master Plan can be viewed at the Mark Twain Lake Project Office, weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center, daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  It will also be available on the project website at http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/MarkTwainLake/masterplan.aspx.

A Project Master Plan is defined by USACE as the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all project recreational, natural, and cultural resources throughout the life of a Corps water resources development project.  In general, it defines “how” the resources will be managed for the public use and resource conservation.  The MP does not address specifics of regional water quality, shoreline management, or water level management.  Additionally, the operation and management of operational facilities (dam, gates, powerhouses, spillways, etc.) is not included.
