2014 Shelby County Art Show to be held at Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center

Lake Shelbyville – The 48th Annual Shelby County Art Show is scheduled for April 12 and 13 at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center.  This year’s art show features a special exhibit titled, “Going with the Grain, A Family Tree of Woodworkers”.  Visitors to the art show can enjoy local area art work as well as art demonstrators.

The Shelby County Art Show is open to exhibitors on Saturday, April 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to allow for a special critique by judges.  The art show is open to the public on Saturday, April 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 13 from noon to 5:00 p.m.  Among the art demonstrators and the exhibit items will be vocalist and guitarist Kristen Nelson from Decatur on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Brock Hammond from Shelbyville on the keyboard on Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m.  Tom Foreman of TEF Custom Guitars from Stewardson will also be there demonstrating his craft and invites players of the guitar to try them out.  Mike May will use his talents during some of those opening times to strum the chords of Tom’s instruments.  Please contact Dan Modzelewski (774-1521), Carol Kessler (774-5318) or email dckess@consolidated.net with any questions.
