Water Releases Increase at Carlyle Lake

Carlyle Lake – As of 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, the pool elevation at Carlyle Lake is 443.94 feet, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD), with a release of approximately 3,160 cubic feet per second (cfs) and Thursday’s inflow was approximately 6,250 cfs.  A series of gate changes will be made today to increase releases to approximately 4,860 cfs.  The river is considered bank full at 4,000 cfs.  Due to the previous rainfall, Carlyle Lake is predicted to crest on Sunday at 445.5 feet NGVD without additional precipitation.  The winter target pool elevation for Carlyle Lake is 443.0 feet NGVD.  

   The pool elevation at Lake Shelbyville is 597.07 feet NGVD with a release of approximately 800 cfs.  A series of gate changes will be made today to increase releases to 2,120 cfs. Lake Shelbyville is expected to crest on Monday 600.05 NGVD. The winter target pool elevation for Lake Shelbyville is 596.0 feet NGVD.
