Mark Twain Lake – Come set sail with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association for a day of pirate fun on Saturday September 7th, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center on Mark Twain Lake.  The Salt River Pirates will return to host a series of high seas activities.  The event will kick off with a GPS treasure hunt at 1:30 pm.  Sailboats will be on display in the parking lot and a sail boat race will be occurring below the visitor center balcony in the afternoon.  Kids will have a chance to make their own treasure and even a pirate flag they can take home.  At 3:00 p.m. you can learn about the lives of Pirates sung to a merry tune during Pirate Tom’s outdoor concert.  Inspiring pirates of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend in their own pirate costumes.  Prizes, decorations and snacks will be provided by Long John Silver’s and the Salt River Navigation Company of Florida, MO.  It’s sure to be a “swash buckling” good time!

The M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center is located on Rt. J, just south of the Clarence Cannon Dam.  If you need additional information, please contact the Mark Twain Lake Project Office at 573-735-4097 or email us at marktwaininfo@usace.army.mil.
