Lake Shelbyville No Hunting Boundaries Updated

Published Sept. 28, 2012

Lake Shelbyville – The Environmental Stewardship section recently completed updating the No Hunting boundaries around all of the recreation areas on Lake Shelbyville. By regulation, a 600 foot No Hunting boundary must be maintained around each recreation area. This update consisted of adjusting the boundaries in areas where new campsites or facilities have been added, adequately signing the perimeter of the buffer, and painting the perimeter with yellow paint. The boundaries had not been updated in a few years and a number of changes were made. For example, with the addition of Area 4 campsites in Forrest W. Bo Wood Campground, the No Hunting Boundary shifted to the north to bring the park into compliance with the 600 foot safety zone. Other areas affected were Wilborn Creek Recreation Area and Coon Creek Recreation Area.
