ST. LOUIS – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program will hold an open house Wednesday, April 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Florissant.

The FUSRAP team will provide updates on its activities during the event at the Florissant Municipal Court Building, 4575 Washington St, Florissant, MO 63033.

FUSRAP is an environmental remediation program. The FUSRAP team devotes itself to finding and remediating radiological contamination generated by activities of the Manhattan Engineer District and the Atomic Energy Commission during development of the atomic weapons in the 1940s and 1950s.

“Our public meetings are a key component of our community-engagement program. They offer community members the opportunity to ask questions for clarity and to voice concerns while receiving honest, transparent feedback,“ said Col. Andy Pannier, St. Louis District commander. “Our team members come from metro-area communities and are fully committed to completing the necessary remediation as safely, thoroughly and timely as we can.”

This public meeting/open house will include project-update presentations and a panel of experts to answer questions about the ongoing efforts to address environmental concerns related to radiological cleanup in the area.

Information tables will also be set up so that attendees can talk one-on-one with FUSRAP team members and other experts.

In addition to using comment cards at the meeting, you can submit questions or comments in advance via email at STLFUSRAP@usace.army.mil.

Beginning at about 5:45 p.m., you can watch the livestream on the St. Louis District Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/teamsaintlouis.
