ST. LOUIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, in coordination with the non-Federal sponsor, the City of Fenton, Missouri is hosting an in-person public meeting on March 28, to present general study information and to gather feedback on potential flood risk management solutions to address damages to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. The meeting will be hosted in-person in the Fenton City Hall Council Chambers and will include an overview of the study process and potential alternatives currently under consideration to reduce flood risk to business owners and residents.

“Homes, businesses, and infrastructure throughout the Meramec Basin watershed have been significantly impacted by flooding in recent years, and communities are eager to find solutions to the flooding problem,” said Matt Jones, Project manager for the St. Louis District. “This meeting will enable residents, business owners, and the public to inform the Corps about flooding in the community and provide input on the direction of the study.”

A presentation on existing conditions, proposed flood risk reduction measures (nonstructural, structural, flood risk awareness, and outreach efforts.), and recent flooding will be given by subject-matter experts from the Corps of Engineers. The City of Fenton staff as well as community stakeholders will be available to answer questions and provide additional information to attendees.
