ST. LOUIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program, or FUSRAP, will host a townhall meeting, November 17, from 5-8 p.m., to present the results of findings from sampling and testing at Jana Elementary School in Florissant, Missouri, and discuss them with members of the community.

“We took nearly 1,000 samples and measurements throughout the school and the grounds and preliminary results show no presence of radioactive material above the level of radioactivity Mother Nature already provides,” said Col. Kevin Golinghorst, St. Louis District commander. “So, from a radiological standpoint, the school is safe.”
The event will provide an opportunity for members of the community to find out more information about the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers sampling and testing procedures and results, as well as provide the opportunity to ask questions.
“Our work does not stop here,” Golinghorst said. “We will continue to prioritize the health and well-being of the community as we execute work under the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program.”
