ST. LOUIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District, Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) and Environmental Branch encourages members of the public to attend its Virtual FUSRAP Open House Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The FUSRAP team will share information about cleanup activities that have an impact on the Downtown and North St. Louis County (NORCO) areas affected by low-level radiological contamination from the nation’s early atomic weapons development and production activities. The team will also discuss the recent sampling that was conducted after record-breaking rainfall caused the flooding of Coldwater Creek July 26. This fiscal year 2022 update on the St. Louis Sites will be conducted virtually through Webex.

“The St. Louis FUSRAP team is pleased to continue our commitment to engaging with the community,” FUSRAP program manager Phil Moser said. “During FY22, we again experienced outstanding coordination with local entities and individual property owners along Coldwater Creek, accomplishing significant amounts of both remediation and investigative sampling. The entire team is working diligently and truly appreciates the support that many community members have shown.”

Moser and the NORCO project manager will provide updates on project progress. Subject-matter experts will answer general questions. To protect the privacy of property owners, FUSRAP will use Private Chat (between attendees and facilitator) in case attendees mistakenly put personally identifiable information in the meeting’s chat feature. If property owners want to ask specific questions about their properties, they must submit inquiries with property addresses via email at STLFUSRAP@usace.army.mil.
