Environmental Science Series Programs Return to the Rend Lake Visitor Center

Benton, IL – After two years of limited public programming due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake is excited to celebrate Rend Lake’s 50th Anniversary with a full year of programming. The Environmental Science Series begins May 28, 2022. These programs will be held every Saturday from May 28th to September 3rd in the Rend Lake Visitor Center.

Rend Lake Park Rangers, with the help of special guest presenters, have created a full summer of exciting programs to engage both children and adults. The 2022 Environmental Science Series programs are as follows:

May 28: Creatures of Myth and Legend (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
June 4: Hummingbird Banding (11 AM – 2 PM)
June 11: Beach Blast @ South Sandusky Beach (Noon – 4 PM)
June 18: WOW Science! (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
June 25: Animalogy’s Reptiles (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
July 2: Majestic Eagles (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
July 9: Take a “Walk” on the Moon (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM)
July 16: All About Owls (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM)
July 23: Backyard Campout (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM)
July 30: Incredible Bats (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM)
August 6: Nature Craft Day (11 AM – 2 PM)
August 13: Space Exploration (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
August 20: Camo the Clown (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
August 27: Amazing Monarchs (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
September 3: Animals Around the World (10 AM, Noon, 2 PM)
