Benton, IL – On Tuesday, January 18th, at 10 AM, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will be presenting “Wildly Warm for Winter” at the Rend Lake Visitor Center as part of the Small World Program series. This series is designed for children 5 & under; however, all ages are welcome! As always, these programs are free and open to the public. In accordance with health requirements, masks will be worn while in the Rend Lake Visitor Center.

During the “Wildly Warm for Winter” program, Park Rangers will read a wintertime tale and teach about how different animals live during the cold, winter months. The children will get to dress up as some of their favorite animals while learning about hibernation, adaptation, and migration. We will finish up the program with a hands-on craft of making bird feeders to take home and feed some of the winter animals!

For more information or questions about the Small World Program series, please contact Park Ranger Makayla Tinker at the Rend Lake Project Office & Visitor Center at (618) 724-2493.
