US Army Corps of Engineers Preventative COVID-19 Closures at Mark Twain Lake

Published March 25, 2020

Mark Twain Lake – In an effort to further protect against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) recreation areas, including boat ramps, day use areas and campgrounds at Mark Twain Lake will remain closed until further notice.

All camping reservations scheduled through 1 May are cancelled. Individuals with paid reservations will be contacted by email and full refunds will automatically be processed by Recreation.gov with no cancellation fees. Individuals should not attempt to contact Recreation.gov to request a refund or a cancellation fee will be charged. Mark Twain Lake USACE campgrounds will remain closed until further notice.

All other special events, including USACE-sponsored events, interpretive programs, fishing tournaments, site visits, and public meetings will be put on hold until further notice.

The USACE regrets any inconvenience caused by these closures, but must keep the safety and health of all visitors as well as its employees as our priority. These preventative measures allow the USACE to continue to best deliver its other critical services uninterrupted at this time.

Additional information on modifications, closures or other restrictions related to USACE facilities at Mark Twain Lake will be announced as soon as possible.  For more information call the Mark Twain Lake Project Office at 573-735-4097.
