Fall Events at Carlyle Lake

CARLYLE LAKE – Fall is a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors and the events at Carlyle Lake will keep you busy the entire season! Boulder Campground will be open through 12:00p.m. Monday, 14 October 2019, Dam West and McNair Campgrounds will be open through 12:00p.m. Tuesday, 5 November 2019. Dam East Spillway Campground and Hazlet State Park Campgrounds are open year round. 

The 2019 Haunted Trail kicks off the fall festivities on Friday, 18 October 2019. The fun begins at the Tractor Supply parking lot with a hayride down to the Little Prairie Nature Trail where ghosts and goblins await. The trail is open from 6:30p.m.-10:00p.m. Admission is $9 per person. All proceeds will support the 2020 Fireworks Spectacular. 

The festivities continue on Saturday, 19 October 2019 with the Carlyle Street Fair Committee “Pick of the Patch” fall festival held at Dam West Day Use Area from 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. The festival will include arts, crafts and food vendors. In addition, the City of Carlyle Pumpkin Patch will be set up in the Dam West Day Use Area. This annual event includes children’s activities such as face painting, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, and bounce houses. Visitors are in for a treat this year as Carlyle Lake celebrates Carpfest for the first time! Clint Carter of Carter’s Fish Market in Springfield, IL will educate visitors on how to properly clean and cook Asian carp at Dam West Day Use Shelter #1 from 11:00am-2:00pm on Saturday, 19 October 2019. Free samples of cooked Asian carp will be available to the public. The day ends with the second evening of the 2019 Haunted Trail from 6:30p.m.-10:00p.m.
