U. S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District Announces the Employee of The Month For November 2016

Published Jan. 27, 2017

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake is proud to announce that Shelly Howald, a Natural Resource Specialist (Ranger) at the Clarence Cannon Dam & Mark Twain Lake Project was selected as the employee for the month for November 2016 for the St. Louis District. She coordinated the efforts for the 28th Annual Mark Twain Lake Disabled Hunt held 19-20 November 2016 --the longest-running hunt of its kind in the state of Missouri.

She led a team of Corps employees and over 100 volunteers to make this event a success. The team’s combined efforts allowed 36 hunters to participate in this sportsmen’s tradition. This hunting experience is a two-day event, combining comradery over an evening bonfire, and serious hunting from prepared blinds during the day. Her uncommon dedication and commitment to the people attending this event was evident in smiles and warm thank you’s from the program participants.

Shelly has maintained a program of excellence and her constant attention to the preservation and improvement of the public’s resources have earned her the MVS November 2016 Employee of the Month.

Congratulations on a job well done!
