On the 3rd Saturday in August the annual duck blind drawings and registration will be held at Picnic Shelter 3 near the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center at 1p.m. Anyone wishing to participate in the drawing must be registered prior to 1p.m. Late arrivals will be required to wait until the drawing and placement process has concluded to be allowed to register and choose a location for their blind. Blinds are provided by the applicants and must meet the Wappapello Lake Shoreline Management Plan's "Minimum Standards for Floating Duck Blinds" and "Shoreline Use Permit Conditions." You may obtain these documents by either stopping by the Wappapello Lake Project Office or by downloading them from this web page. Cost for permits are $15.00. Bring exact cash, personal check, or money order made payable to "FAO,USACE, St. Louis District". Permitted blinds may be placed on the lake after Labor Day and must be removed from the lake or transferred to a storage cove within two weeks of the close of the zoned duck season. Any blinds not removed on maintained will be cited for failure to comply and also may loose the privilege of placing a duck blind on the lake.
