BENTON, IL – On Saturday, June 1st at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake will be hosting one of history’s brightest figures, Abraham Lincoln. Considered one of the nation’s foremost Lincoln actors, Fritz Klein has been portraying this former president full-time since 1980. His performances have taken him to some 35 states for film and television, on stage, and as a motivational speaker. The Lincoln Institute’s website proudly states Klein’s reenactment is “thoroughly researched, historically accurate, and blend Lincoln’s humor with his great humanity.” Grab your stove-pipe hat and don’t miss your opportunity to have an in person encounter with the 16th President who was the first in office to sport a full beard!
The Environmental Science Series will continue Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a fascinating Bizarre Biology Show captivatingly led by one of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers very own park rangers.
