This is a Draft version of the Rivers Project Master Plan

The St. Louis District, U. S. army Corps of Engineers is currently developing a Rivers Project Master Plan for the management of the natural, cultural and recreation resources on federal lands and waters associated with Mississippi River Navigation Pools 24, 25 and 26 (including the lower 80 miles of the Illinois River), Pool 27, the Kaskaskia River Navigation Project and applicable portions of the Mississippi River from St. Louis to the Ohio River confluence.

When completed, the Rivers Project Master Plan will be the conceptual planning document that will authorize all management activity and guide the continued sustained use of all natural and constructed resources on approximately 50,000 acres of public lands and waters administered by the Corps Rivers Project Office.

The district is now requesting that all interested agencies, organizations, and individuals please participate in the Review and Comment process (period) on this draft Plan. After the comment period, the District and key agency partners, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will compile and evaluate the comments received and make the necessary revisions to prepare the Final Master Plan which will then be processed for approval.
