This is a
Draft version of the Rivers ProjectMaster Plan
The
St. Louis District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is currently developing a
Rivers Project Master Plan for the management of the natural, cultural and recreation
resources on federal lands and waters associated with Mississippi River
Navigation Pools 24, 25 and 26 (including the lower 80 miles of the Illinois
River), Pool 27, the Kaskaskia River Navigation Project and applicable
portions of the Mississippi River from St. Louis to the Ohio River
confluence.
When
completed, the Rivers Project Master Plan will be the conceptual planning
document that will authorize all management activity and guide the continued
sustained use of all natural and constructed resources on approximately
50,000 acres of public lands and waters administered by the Corps Rivers
Project Office.
The
district is now requesting that all interested agencies, organizations, and
individuals please participate in the Review and Comment process (period) on
this draft Plan. After the comment period, the District and key agency
partners, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Illinois Department
of Natural Resources (IDNR), and the Missouri Department of Conservation
(MDC) will compile and evaluate the comments received and make the necessary
revisions to prepare the Final Master Plan which will then be processed for
approval.
Draft Master Plan Review public workshops

Informal
public workshops will be conducted on June 22, 23 and 24 to allow interested
agencies, organizations and individuals the opportunity to review and comment
on the Draft Plan. Corps, USFWS, IDNR and MDC representatives will be
available to assist at these meetings.
