Location and Description:  The Goose Creek watershed is located in Southeast Missouri, in Cape Girardeau County, approximately 90 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri. The city of Jackson, Missouri, and nearby portions of Cape Girardeau County receives Goose Creek flooding on a regular basis. Jackson has been steadily growing for at least the past two decades. Jackson’s largest employer is in the Goose Creek flood plain, and new residential development is occurring in the basin. Potential solutions may include a series of detention/retention reservoirs.
