Hours & Amenities  
The National Great Rivers Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. There are no admission fees to the facility. The museum is ADA accessible. Restrooms, bus parking and picnic facilities are available.

Location  
The National Great Rivers Museum is located adjacent to the Melvin Price Locks and Dam on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River in Alton, IL.  The address is #2 Locks and Dam Way, Alton, IL  62002.

Directions
From I-270 North:  Take the 367 North exit toward Alton, turn right onto Highway 143 (formerly the Berm Highway). Turn Right at Locks and Dam Way, Continue to the National Great Rivers Museum Parking lot. 

From I-55 South:  Take the 270 West exit, exit onto Highway 3 North.  Turn left at 143.  Turn left at Locks and Dam Way, Continue to the National Great Rivers Museum Parking Lot.

Environmental Learning Facility, West Alton, MO Outdoor Classroom Available by calling 636-899-2600

The Environmental Learning Facility is located along Riverlands Way in West Alton Missouri within the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Take Highway 67 across the Clark Bridge to the first left and follow the road or take 270 West to 367 North and turn onto Riverlands Way before crossing the Clark Bridge. This classroom, overlook Ellis Bay, is an excellent way to conduct an activity indoors, when you cannot go outside or when classroom facilities are needed. The ELF can hold up to 75 people. The ELF is equipped for showing videos. Chairs and tables are provided. Meeting of the Rivers Foundation
The mission of the Meeting of the Rivers Foundation is to conduct programs and activities that promote public awareness and understanding of the great rivers, their environments, their place in the natural world, and the dynamic interaction between the river systems and the human and wildlife communities that border them, to find out more visit us at mtrf.org
