GETTING TO CARLYLE CAMPGROUNDS/DAY USE AREAS
- Dam West Campground: From Carlyle take IL 127 North. Take a right on county road1430N (right after McDonald's). Take a left at county road 1840E (the first road on your left). The campground entrance will be on your right.
- Boulder Campground: From Carlyle, take U.S. Highway 50 east, to the Boulder Road (2500E), turn left (north). Go approximately 5 miles to the campground entrance, which is just south of county road 1900N
- Coles Creek Campground and Lotus Group Area: From Carlyle, take U.S. Highway 50 east to Boulder Road, (2500E) turn left (north). Go approximately 3 miles to County Road 1700N, turn left (east) Follow 1700N and continue until the road connects with 2400E. Countinue south until you see the Coles Creek recreation area entrance on your right. To Lotus, take the Coles Creek entrance road just past the fee booth and turn right. Follow north to the Lotus Group Area.
- McNair: From Carlyle, take Old US Hwy 50 east to the Dam East Entrance road. Turn north and continue through the 4 way intersection to the McNair Group Area.

Interstate 64
- Directions to Carlyle from I-64 East Bound: Take I-64 heading east. Merge onto Air Mobility Drive/US-50/IL-158E or Exit 19B toward Carlyle. Turn right onto US-50E at the first stoplight. Continue to follow US-50 East to Lebanon. Turn left at the stop sign at Casey’s. Follow US-50 through Lebanon to the stop sign at the top of the hill. Turn right and continue following US-50 for approximately 23 miles to the T intersection at 127. Turn left onto 127 and take the first right (directly after McDonald’s) onto William Road. Follow the road approximately 1 mile to Carlyle Lake.
- Directions to Carlyle from I-64 West Bound: Take I-64 heading west. Take the IL-127 exit, Exit 50, toward Carlyle/Nashville, IL. Turn right onto IL-127. Follow IL-127 for approximately 17 miles to the town of Carlyle. Once in Carlyle, go through two stoplights and then take the first right after the second stoplight onto William Road (directly after McDonald’s). Follow the road approximately 1 mile to Carlyle Lake.
Interstate 57
- Directions from I-57 South Bound: Take I-57 south to I-70 west. Take I-70 west toward St. Louis. Take the IL-127 exit, Exit 45, toward Greenville/Carlyle. Turn left onto IL-127. Travel approximately 17 miles to William Road (directly before the McDonald’s). Turn left onto William Road. Follow the road approximately 1 mile to Carlyle Lake.
- Directions from I-57 North Bound: Follow I-57 north to I-64. Take I-64 west toward St. Louis. Take the IL-127 exit, Exit 50, toward Carlyle/Nashville, IL. Turn right onto IL-127.
