Carlyle Lake Master Plan Public Workshop

Published Oct. 4, 2016

CARLYLE LAKE –   The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake will hold a public workshop regarding the 2016 Carlyle Lake Draft Master Plan Update.  An overview of the updated plan will be presented at the Mariners Village Resort Conference Center in Carlyle, IL at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.

The Master Plan addresses outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship activities occurring on lands owned and easement lands managed by the Corps of Engineers at the Carlyle Lake Project.  The Master Plan does not address shoreline management, water control, or water quality since these activities are included in other Corps of Engineers operating plans.

Agency and public input obtained through a series of public workshops and an open comment period from December 2015 through February 2016 was considered during the formulation of the updated plan.  The update is scheduled for completion in December 2016.

The Draft Master Plan will be available for review through November 15, 2016 and will be available online at: http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/Carlyle-Lake/   Draft copies will also be available for review at the Case Halstead Public Library in Carlyle, the Evans Public Library in Vandalia, and at the Germantown Public Library.
