USACE Veterans Curation Program welcomes home veterans

Published June 21, 2013

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District’s Veterans Curation Program will participate in a Welcome Home celebration honoring veterans returning home from overseas combat deployments at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Mo., June 22.

Military and civilian staff from the Corps will host an information booth about the Veterans Curation Program at the Veterans Affairs annual event to assist veterans as they transition from the armed forces to non-military life.

All veterans, their families and the St. Louis community are invited to the free and family friendly event to thank and show support for America’s veterans. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a formal ceremony beginning at 10:45 a.m. to honor veterans that served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Since the creation of the Veterans Curation Program in 2009, there has been a partnership between the St. Louis Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis District that has allowed the St. Louis Veterans Curation Program to assist veterans with their transition from the military to the civilian workforce.
