2019 Recreation Season at Lake Shelbyville

 

Lake Shelbyville The recreation season is upon us and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville would like to announce 2019 campground & public beach season dates.  All camping facilities, with the exception of Lone Point Campground, are on target to open on their scheduled dates.  All beaches are also on target to open as scheduled, weather permitting.  Fish cleaning stations and restrooms are open, with the exception of Lone Point, and all courtesy docks are in place.

Campground Season Dates and Fees

Coon Creek Campground

  • May 2-October 27, 2019
  • Fees: $18-24 per night/per single occupancy site

Forrest W. “Bo” Wood Campground

  • April 18-October 27, 2019
  • Fees: $18-24 per night/per single occupancy site

Lithia Springs Campground

  • April 18-October 27, 2019
  • Fees: $18-24 per night/per single occupancy site

Lone Point Campground

  • To Be Determined-September 3, 2019
  • Fees: $16-24 per night/per single occupancy site

Opossum Creek Campground

  • May 16-September 3, 2019
  • Fees: $16-24 per night/per single occupancy site

Wilborn Creek Group Camp

  • Open Now-December 1, 2019
  • Fees: $24 per night/single occupancy site OR $240/entire group camp

Wilborn Creek Tent-Only Sites

  • May 16-September 3, 2019
  • Fees: $10 per night/tent camping site

 

Reservations for Bo Wood, Coon Creek, Lithia Springs, and Opossum Creek are available by calling (877)444-6777, online at www.recreation.gov, or in person at campground fee booths during hours of operation.  Upon opening, Lone Point will be available on a first come, first served basis until further notice.

Looking for a get-away this weekend? Wilborn Creek Group Camp is now open on a first come, first served basis for individual sites and by reservation if reserving the entire group camp.  Lone Point Group Camp opening date is has not been determined. Campers may register and pay for individual sites using the honor vault system for individual sites. Any group camp reservations at Wilborn Creek Group Camp or Lone Point Walleye Group Camp shall be no less than 14 days in advance and no greater than 1 year in advance by calling (217)774-3951 X 3.  Reservations will be posted on-site at the entrance to each group camp area.  Both Wilborn Creek and Walleye Group Camp are comprised of 10 newly renovated, full-hookup, 50 AMP service campsites.

Public Beach Season Dates and Fees

Dam West Beach, Sullivan Beach, and Wilborn Creek Beach

  • Open: May 18-September 8, 8:00AM-Sunset
  • Day Use Fees: $5.00/vehicle/day or $2.00/pedestrian/day
  • Children under 16 and USACE registered campers* are FREE

Annual passes for swimming beaches and boat launches are available for $40.00/year.  Annual passes are available during normal business hours at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center, USACE Lake Shelbyville campground fee booths, and Chip’s Marine near Sullivan, IL.
