June 14, 2017, Mark Twain Lake – The Ralls County Kayak Race held at Mark Twain Lake on May 13, 2017 has made possible a donation to the Mark Twain Lake Visitors and Educational Resource Center Committee.  The donation of $700.00 made from the proceeds of the race will help provide a playground at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center.  The Kayak Race, held at the Indian Creek Recreation Area and Indian Creek Marina, was organized by the Ralls County Health Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The donation was presented by Maekayla Wiler of the Ralls County Health Department and accepted by Bob Kendrick, representing the Mark Twain Lake Visitors and Educational Resource Center Committee.  Mr. Kendrick said “This donation will help provide a needed recreational opportunity at the Visitor Center and our group really appreciates the local support”.    Ms. Wiler indicated the Kayak Race was very successful and provided a unique opportunity for outdoor recreation at Mark Twain Lake.  Plans are being made for the kayak race to become an annual event. Details will become available in the future.
