 Resident Engineer

What got you interested in pursuing a career in engineering?

“I always enjoyed math and trying to figure out how things work. Seeing buildings go up and construction trucks drive by always fascinated me.”

What has been your coolest experience or career highlight?

“Going down into a sewer for the first time… that was something different. I had to take a second to realize I was actually standing in a 17-foot diameter sewer.”

Why do you like working for the Corps of Engineers?

“I like it because I don’t have to sit at a desk all day. I get to go out to job sites and see different things. I have a hard time sitting at a desk all day.”

Do you have any advice for high school students?

“School is going to be rough; it requires a lot of math and science…Be prepared.”
